International

The #DigitAg international strategy is based on two key pillars: research and training.

Serre3

As an institute of the MUSE Montpellier Université d'Excellence i-site, we want to create a new research and training community and be recognized as one of the world's top 3 leading clusters in digital agriculture.

Our objectives: to support the design of "digital ecosystems" in the countries and regions we have identified, and to diversify via an international network and "International #DigitAgs" clusters. These local structures are necessary to develop viable digital agriculture. They will be vectors of local innovation and employment for the skills trained. Most of the world's agricultural sectors and models are involved, including family farming in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

We are willing to :

  • promote the hosting and exchange of researchers between member laboratories and other countries in the #DigitAg international network, incoming mobility for students and outgoing mobility for our researchers to identified centers of excellence, double degree mechanisms and the accreditation of masters degrees and theses
  • develop collaborative research projects
  • engage in teaching partnerships, for masters degrees and training courses in the North and South
  • promote local innovation through local businesses and incubators

We aim to strengthen the international collaborations and partnerships of our members, and will also be open to emerging proposals for collaboration, in both North and South.

Our first circle is made up of partnerships between our member establishments and those of MUSE - Montpellier Université d'Excellence with the rest of the world: MUSE - Montpellier Université d'Excellence with the rest of the world:

  • These partner pools are identified according to major North and South zones, and major continents or regions (sub-Saharan Africa, continental Southeast Asia, Latin and Central America).
  • A second circle is built up by incorporating into our international network other players targeted for their particular skills, and from other networks.

We are building our community by carrying out actions in these countries and regions that are convergent and complementary to those provided for under our members' structuring schemes and framework agreements. Our incentive programs will support this structuring (funding inward and outward mobility for researchers, teachers, PhD students, etc.).

National and regional incubators are already supporting emerging digital farming companies in the target zones. Exchanges, networking and support for "digital ecosystems" by #DigitAg will enable us to cross-fertilize experiences and compare the different incubation processes within our network.
