ITAP JRU brings to #DigitAg its expertise in precision agriculture, optical sensors (vision and spectrometry) and data acquisition systems, as well as decision-support systems to characterize agro-systems and processes.
ITAP is interested in developing sensors (Axis 3) and in modeling (Axis 6). ITAP’s work also covers 3 challenges of #DigitAg : “ICT and crop protection”, “ICT and agricultural territory management”, and “Digital solutions to optimize the genotype”.
The unit develops sensors to help characterize and optimize complex agricultural environments, as well as tools to limit pesticide use and reduce their harmful effects on the environment and on user and public health.
ITAP JRU is involved in the Master degree “AgroTIC” of the Graduate School of #DigitAg as well as in the “Chaire AgroTIC” (The Digital Agriculture Business Chair) and the Digital Agriculture Observatory.
Optical sensors (vision, spectrometry) developed to characterise agrosystems and environmental processes,
Decision-support systems: creation of indicators for professionals exploiting land, climatic and professional data to diagnose the condition of agro-ecological systems.
Technologies to develop ecotechnologies for sustainable agricultural production.
Studies of design methods which integrate environmental constraints: eco-evaluation, eco-design, integrated design.
The ITAP JRU is especially working on equipment to protect and maintain cultures to limit the impact of pesticide-application techniques on health and the environment. It is a reference centre for agricultural spraying.
Environmental evaluation
Development and implementing tools to evaluate environmental and social impacts based on life-cycle analyses with the purpose of perfecting the procedures.
