Abstract: The objective of the thesis is to analyse the effect of agriculture’s digitalisation on the functioning of R&D in the sector. The aim is to understand how digital technologies are transforming the collective organizations that farmers have created to produce knowledge. The hypothesis is that digitisation leads to the construction of a market for decision support tools as well as new alliances and competition in the valorisation of data produced by, for and with farmers. The development of digital technologies is accompanied by the arrival of new players in the adviosry landscape and applied research services (start-ups, multinationals, etc.). It is necessary to analyse how the entry of these players is transforming the production models of services for farmers, but also the relationships between R&D actors and their institutions. Particular attention will be paid to the development of agronomic models that underpin decision support tools. What are the sources of knowledge? Who invests in model construction and validation? Are these models compatible with the greening of agricultural practices?
